Detailed 1-Day Akagera Safari Adventure Itinerary
Day 1: Kigali – Akagera National Park – Kigali
Wake up very early in the morning and have an early breakfast, for your safari guide will be early at your hotel to drive you to Akagera National Park, which is about a 2-3 hours drive from the city.
Embark on a morning game drive on arrival at the park where you will see elephants, buffalos, lions, leopards, rhinos, giraffes, zebras, waterbucks, baboons, black and white colobus monkeys, duikers, oribis, impalas, warthogs, among others.
You will have lunch at one of the safari lodge’s restaurants within the park, and after that, your safari guide will drive you to Lake Ihema for an afternoon boat safari where you will see lots of water birds, hippos, and crocodiles submerged in the water, and some animals grazing along the shores of the lake.
Return from the boat ride, and you will drive back to Kigali where you will be dropped back at your hotel.
