Ruvubu River is a central African river rising from the Northern end of Burundi near Kayanza town, and then it flows downwards meeting Ruvironza River close to Gitega town.
From there, it continues flowing Northeast of Burundi, passing through Ruvubu National Park until it reaches the border, forming part of the Burundi-Tanzania border before it enters into Tanzania.
Later on, on its course, it joins the Nyabarongo River at the Rwanda-Tanzania Southeast border, forming Akagera River and finally pouring its water into Africa’s largest lake, Lake Victoria.
