The drive within Rurama Loop of Akagera usually takes one hour, covering only a 20 km stretch. Upon reaching Lake Ihema, you will see amazing warthogs, impalas, bushbucks, hippos, and crocodiles. This safari is a dream come true as you drive to the Rurama Escarpment.

It is easily accessible since it is only a two-hour drive from Kigali, where taxis are available to provide a comfortable journey. You can also rent a private vehicle to the park.
The park doors are open throughout the year, with some months being wet and others dry. However, the dry season is recommended since all paths to the park are clear, and the grass has dried out, giving visitors a clear view of all species, including the rare ones.
