Kagera River is a famous East African river that flows all the way from Burundi out of Lake Rweru. It is also commonly known as Akagera River or Alexandra Nile.

Kagera River flows through four countries, namely Burundi, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Uganda, rising from Burundi and pouring its waters into Lake Victoria in Uganda, the country’s largest lake and Africa’s largest.

It forms part of the borders of these countries: Burundi-Rwanda border, Rwanda-Tanzania border, and Tanzania-Uganda border.
