Kajumbura Lookout may take just a few hours, and if you still have time, explore different parts of Akagera such as Rwisirabo Loop, Kitabili Loop, and Lake Mihindi, where you will encounter hippos and various bird species. You can also visit Rumara Peninsula and many other areas. Safaris are conducted using safari cars for game drives.
You will be picked up from your hotel and taken to Akagera headquarters, where you will be briefed about the rules and regulations before proceeding on the long-awaited journey, which includes passing by Lake Ihema. Remember, the lining lakes have some of the continent’s densest concentrations of water birds.
As you head to the lookout, you may hear the roars of the jungle’s lions. While driving through the rocky areas of the park, take time to gaze at the gentle hills blending beautifully with the lowland swamps and water bodies.

Avoid littering in the park to prevent harm to the animals, as elements like polythene bags are dangerous to both the environment and the wildlife.
There are always designated trash bins, and if you do not see any, keep your rubbish with you until you exit the park.
Do not walk alone in the park. Remember, tour guides are always armed to protect you in case of any danger. Without a guide, you could be at risk, as acquiring a weapon in the country requires registration, and the park must be informed, especially about those participating in illegal hunting.
